FL – Hillsborough County Commissioner Mark
Sharpe endorsed Bob McCann for State
Representative, District 67. "Bob McCann's
knowledge about health care and the future of
medical technology will serve our area well,
said Commissioner Sharpe. "With health care
continuing to be a growing segment of our
economy, Bob McCann sees the growth potential
for the USF medical school to be an even larger
economic incubator for our region. I like Bob's
vision and ideas and I'm supporting him because
he is best prepared to serve our area,"
continued Sharpe.
Mark Sharpe is an at-large Hillsborough County
Commissioner and was first elected in 2004 and
reelected in 2008. He served as an active duty
officer in the US Navy for eight years and
served for 12 years in the US Naval Reserves.
Bob McCann lives in Bradenton with his wife
Rosemarie. Bob McCann is a native of Chicago and
served in the U.S. Navy from 1975 through 1979.
After completing his naval service, he attended
college on the G.I. Bill and went on to graduate
from medical school at Kirksville College of
Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri in
1988.
In addition to being a practicing emergency room
physician, Bob serves as an adjunct professor of
family medicine at LECOM-Bradenton (Lake Erie
College of Osteopathic Medicine) and is a
practicing attorney working in the area of
medical laws.
State House District 67 covers southern
Hillsborough County as well as eastern Manatee
and Sarasota Counties and will be open in 2010.
Bob McCann is a registered Republican. The
primary election is scheduled for August 24,
2010 and the general election will be held on
November 2, 2010.
