FL – State Representatives Ed Homan and
Ronald "Doc" Renuart endorsed Bob McCann for
State Representative.
"For Floridians desiring health care reform, Bob
McCann is the candidate that can deliver," said
Representative Ed Homan. "He believes that we
need to let doctors do what they know best and
that is treat patients without the fears of
frivolous lawsuits and overregulation by
government and insurers."
Representative Ronald Renuart commented, "Bob is
well qualified and well prepared to be an
effective leader in the Florida House. He has an
excellent track record of service and
leadership."
Representative Ed Homan of Tampa is serving his
fourth and final term in the Florida House of
Representatives and serves as Chairman of the
Health and Family Services Policy Council.
Representative Ronald "Doc" Renuart of
Jacksonville was first elected in 2008. In
addition to both being physicians,
Representative Homan served in the US Navy from
1970-1972. Representative Renuart serves as a
colonel in the Florida National Guard and served
as Chief Medical Officer in Iraq from 2004 -
2008.
Bob McCann lives in Bradenton with his wife
Rosemarie. Bob McCann is a native of Chicago and
served in the U.S. Navy from 1975 through 1979.
After completing his naval service, he attended
college on the G.I. Bill and went on to graduate
from medical school at Kirksville College of
Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri in
1988.
In addition to being a practicing emergency room
physician, Bob serves as an adjunct professor of
family medicine at LECOM-Bradenton (Lake Erie
College of Osteopathic Medicine) and is a
practicing attorney working in the area of
medical laws.
State House District 67 covers southern
Hillsborough County as well as eastern Manatee
and Sarasota Counties and will be open in 2010.
Bob McCann is a registered Republican. The
primary election is scheduled for August 24,
2010 and the general election will be held on
November 2, 2010.
