Senator John Grant endorsed Bob McCann for State
Representative, District 67 today.
"Bob McCann's is exactly the kind of man we need
representing us," said Senator John Grant.
"Bob's medical and legal background gives him a
skill set that is rare in government. His
leadership ability and independent thinking will
serve the constituents of District 67 and all of
Florida well," continued Grant.
"I am honored to have Senator Grant on my team,"
said Bob McCann. "He and I share the same vision
for a strong economy, efficient government,
affordable health care (especially protecting
Florida's seniors and children) and quality
education."
John Grant was elected to the Florida House of
Representatives in 1980 and then to the Florida
Senate in 1986. Grant served on the faculties of
The University of Tampa, Hillsborough Community
College and the University of South Florida
teaching law, government and politics.
Senator John Grant joins a growing list of Bob
McCann supporters including Hillsborough County
Commissioner Mark Sharpe and Representatives Ed
Homan and Ronald "Doc" Renuart.
Bob McCann lives in Bradenton with his wife
Rosemarie. Bob McCann is a native of Chicago and
served in the U.S. Navy from 1975 through 1979.
After completing his naval service, he attended
college on the G.I. Bill and went on to graduate
from medical school at Kirksville College of
Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri in
1988.
In addition to being a practicing emergency room
physician, Bob serves as an adjunct professor of
family medicine at LECOM-Bradenton (Lake Erie
College of Osteopathic Medicine) and is a
practicing attorney working in the area of
medical laws.
State House District 67 covers southern
Hillsborough County as well as eastern Manatee
and Sarasota Counties and will be open in 2010.
Bob McCann is a registered Republican. The
primary election is scheduled for August 24,
2010 and the general election will be held on
November 2, 2010.
